The Seiko Calibre 7T85A is a battery-powered analogue quartz chronograph movement featuring a three-hand time display, date calendar, and distinctive double-retrograde stopwatch layout.

Its chronograph measures elapsed time in 1/5-second increments, with a 100-minute display and continuous measurement capability of up to 300 minutes (5 hours). Additional functions include split-time measurement, accumulated elapsed-time measurement, chronograph hand-position adjustment, and a battery-life indicator.

When the battery is nearing depletion, the small seconds hand advances in two-second intervals. The movement also includes quick date correction, a stop-seconds function for accurate time setting, and an electronic circuit-reset function.
