Seiko Calibre V116A Solar Quartz Movement

The Seiko Calibre V116A is a compact two-hand analogue solar quartz movement designed to display the hours and minutes. Its solar-power system converts light into electrical energy and stores it in an MT516F rechargeable cell, eliminating the need for a conventional disposable watch battery.

When fully charged, the movement provides approximately 12 months of power reserve. It also features an overcharge-prevention system to protect the rechargeable cell and an electronic circuit-reset function for servicing and movement installation.

Designed for small-format watch cases, the V116A measures 11.6 × 15.55 mm with a movement height of only 2.0 mm. The hands advance at 20-second intervals as part of the movement’s energy-efficient operating design.
