The Seiko VX45E is an analogue quartz watch movement featuring a three-hand time display, date calendar, and a separate retrograde day indicator.
The hour, minute, and central seconds hands provide a traditional time display, while the retrograde hand indicates the day of the week across a curved scale. After reaching the final day, the indicator returns to the beginning of the weekly scale. The VX45E configuration typically positions the date window at 6 o’clock and the retrograde day display near 5:20.
